Luxury Residential Treatment in Utah

When you need help overcoming drugs or alcohol, there are the options of residential or outpatient treatment programs. Outpatient treatment involves the person living at home and going to a clinic for regular treatments. This works fine for some people, however, it is hard at times to make a major change in your life while living in the same environment. Usually a person’s environment has at least some impact on their drug or alcohol problem. This is where a residential treatment program can give you the help you need. With residential treatment, a person stays at the treatment center for a set amount of time and receives treatment at the center. The residential setting provides a break from the normal environment and provides a foundation for long-term recovery.

When you try to get clean or sober it is hard to be successful without changing your environment. There is more temptation to revert to old ways of thinking and start using again. Residential centers offer a save and supportive environment for the recovery process, where you can develop new habits and new ways of thinking. The 28-day program gives a person that much time of not using drugs, and it gives a person a chance to get away from the normal business of life to focus on recovery. Patients are under close supervision during treatment.

The treatment is based on the theory that addiction is a disease and not a moral failure. It is a disease that impacts every area of your life. The treatment center helps a patient understand how the addiction is affecting every area of their life. The Avante Treatment Center uses the latest evidence-based practices in substance abuse treatment.  Some of the practices involve moral resonation therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavior therapy. There is a focus on the whole person, including physical and mental health.

Patients in the program get at least 20 hours of individual and group counseling each week. There are also educational programs, recreational therapy, art therapy, and experiential activities. A non-12-step evidence based program is utilized and goals are set for each individual. Clients are also screened for drug use regularly while in the program. Patients also receive a psychiatric evaluation and follow up as needed.

A licensed mental health counselor is assigned to each patient. The counselor provides individual counseling, family counseling if needed, and treatment planning. Each plan is different, just as every person is different.

Structure is another thing that is offered with individualized residential treatment. Often people using drugs or alcohol have structure issues as well. This program goes with a daily schedule that offers the structure many people need.  The day begins with breakfast, meditation, chores, and then group therapy. After lunch there is a counselor led group session, and in the later afternoon patients can do homework, have time for reflection, and participate in recreational activities. There is a daily wrap up session after dinner, and there is a 12-step meeting each night for those choosing a 12-step path to recovery.

The program at Avante Treatment Centers involves a four-week program that focuses on a different area of addiction each week. There is instruction about the disease of addiction and the various stages of recovery. Relapse prevention and the role the family plays is also a big part of the program. The four topics include addiction, relapse, family, and recovery.

The treatment is designed to increase knowledge of addiction, establish a healthy lifestyle, improve quality of life, improve support systems, and improve functionality in the lives of the people who are struggling with addiction. Recovery is a long process, and an inpatient treatment program is something that helps many people get on the right path.
